Review : Kink Nail Paint

What Company website says

For a popping pedi or an on-trend mani, Kink’s vibrant range of Nail Polishes cannot be beaten. Coming in a 10ml bottle, this streak-free formula resists chipping, is free from toluene, formaldehyde and di butyl phthalate, and is available in 16 colours ranging from creamy pinks to vibrant corals and vampy darks.

Packaging

Its quite standard nail paint packaging

Color

Even though there are only 16 colors, the range is quite varied from work safe ‘Nearly Nude’ to fun loving ‘Showgirl’ or ‘Hot Hot Hot’.

I tried 2 nail paint from this range

  • Hot Hot Hot
Its hot pink color which surprisingly suits me alot. A perfect color for Fridays.

  • Peachy
As the name suggests it a pleasant peach color. It sits somewhere peach and bright coral,
which  made me gravitate towards this shade. A work safe color when you don’t want to
              wear boring nudes.
I loved ‘Peachy’ so much that the first thought as I applied it was “I need to get a backup for this”

Performance

Its a breeze to apply with no streak marks or visible brush strokes. I wore this with Cutex Base Coat and observed wearing at the tips very next day. Now, this was a let down for such a fantastic performing color. It might perform better with a top coat, but I can’t find mine in all this business of moving house.

What I like about it
  • Varied Color Range
  • Ease to apply
  • An last but not least price. In Coles it retails at $5AUD each with all time offer of 3 for price of 2.
What I don’t like
I just wished that it lasted a bit more long nails
.
Would I recommend it :  Oh yes!! A definite range to try especially when you can sneak it into grocery basket.

Availability : Coles
Price : $5AUD each with all time offer of 3 for price of 2

Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadows

Today, I am going to share with you my recently bought Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadows. Since they are not available in Australia, I got them off eBay for $7.99AUD each.

Packaging :
It comes with a clear case cover and set of brush & sponge applicator. The packaging is very flimsy and I don't see myself using either the sponge or the brush.
Cool As A Cucumber

I 'm Feeling Retro
I Got Good Jeans

Color :
Now, this is the fun part. I picked colors which didn't exist in my stash.
I swatched them without any base and I am quite impressed with the color payoff

I 'm Feeling Retro

I am yet to wear them out, so I can't comment on their staying power but my first impressions are really  good about these palettes. You can definitely not go wrong with the price they are for.

Smashbox Pose Blush

Pose Blush has been released on 24th October as part of The Girls On Film Collection.
Its described as ultra luxe long wearing blush to achieve cover worthy cheek bone with instant rush of color.

Packaging
It comes in smooth rubber packing( reminds me of NARS) with a clear lid and a swivel mirror. I personally think that all blushes should come with a mirror( hello MAC!!)

Color
Its a beautiful pink with enough warmth in it to be easily pulled of my warmer skin tones

Performance
Now, don’t let the color in pan fool you. Its a beautiful long lasting color and quite pigmented as well. One swipe is all you need to get the beautiful flush of color. I was apprehensive that it might not  show up on my NC42 skin but it was looked gorgeous on me.
The texture of the blush itself is very smooth.
It lasted over 4 hours for me.

What I like about it
  • Color. It’s something which will work across skin tones
  • The smooth texture of the blush just bowled me over.
  • Call me shallow, but I loved the swivel mirror.

What I don’t like: Nothing

Would I recommend it: Oh yes !!. If you haven’t started with Smashbox, then this is good place to start.

This collection also comes with

  • Silhouette Blush RRP $34.95 AUD
  • Lip Enhancing gloss in Overexposed, Underexposed RRP $26.95 AUD
  • Cream Eyeliner Brush Set in Blacklight and Sepia RRP $39.95 AUD
  • Photo Op Eye Palette in Softbox and Smokebox RRP $64.95AUD

Next on my lust list are the Smokebox and Sepia. I want them so much that I was at Kit Counter on 23rd October asking if they had any on floor to swatch if not buy. Yes, I want them this bad.

Back to Blogging with Sizzling Taupe

My life has been busy with many things happening at the same time. A newborn and moving to new house meant that I was all over the place. There were so many things to manage that blogging took a hit. I always felt guilty about ignoring my blog. So, I decided, that I would try to evolve a schedule in which blogging also gets its due time.

Today, I woke up with a resolve to write something only to realise that writing a post after such a long time is real hard. I am so unsure where to start, what to write and if it will be good enough to be posted. Anyways, I will start with something simple and then take it from there.

Few months ago, I bought my first Estee Lauder nailpaint, Sizzling Taupe. It a beautiful taupe color which applies like a dream.

What I like about it :

  • The color is sophistication packed in a bottle. You just can't go wrong with it
  • It dries pretty quick
  • There are no brush stroke marks
What I don't like :

  • I just wished it wasn't retailing at $39 AUD

Would I recommend it : Ofcourse. In fact I plan to get more from this range

Availability: Estee Lauder Counters in DJ, Myer
Price: $39 AUD
